Good morning Corona. One week ago, we reached out to you to ask your help in providing gifts for 180 needy preschool children (ages 3 – 5). Many of you immediately stepped forward and requested tags. Two-thirds of our kids are guaranteed gifts—you are amazing! We cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity.
We still have about 60 kids who need someone to step up and say, “I will provide Christmas for a child in need.” Might that be you?
If you are willing to help with the remaining youngsters, please let Amy and me know if you would like to get a gift tag for a boy or girl (please include your phone number and department). As many folks will start Christmas shopping this weekend (a few of us are even bold, or crazy, enough to venture into the Black Friday fray), you may pick up a tag at the library before 5 p.m. today. Otherwise, we will gladly send one (or more) via inter-office mail next week. Please, as hard as it is, limit your generosity to $50 per child. We ask that gifts should include clothing, shoes and a small toy—basics are their greatest need.
No matter when you make your way into the retail melee, we would ask that you bind all packages together, affix the gift tag we sent you, and deliver them to the library by Friday, December 7th.
Truly, for some, there will be no Christmas apart from your generosity. Thank you. In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving!
