2027 Open Enrollment

2027 Open Enrollment begins Monday, September 14, 2026, in Workday and continues through Friday, October 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. PST.
As you prepare for Open Enrollment, please review the information below regarding this year’s benefit elections, plan changes, help sessions, and more.
For the best user experience, we strongly recommend accessing Workday from a desktop or laptop computer (https://workday.coronaca.gov)rather than the Workday mobile app.

IMPORTANT: PASSIVE OPEN ENROLLMENT
Historically, the City has conducted an active Open Enrollment, which required every employee to make benefit elections each year.
With the transition to Workday, the City is moving to a passive Open Enrollment for medical, dental, and vision coverage only.
This means that if you do not make any changes during Open Enrollment, your current 2026 medical, dental, and vision elections will automatically carry over to 2027.
Please note: Passive enrollment does not apply to the following:
- Health Care FSA: You must actively re-enroll for 2027.
- Dependent Care FSA: You must actively re-enroll for 2027.
- Medical Plan Opt-Out: You must re-enroll and provide proof of other qualifying coverage. Failure to provide proof of other qualifying coverage will default an employee into being enrolled in the lowest cost employee-only medical plan.
- UnitedHealthcare: Employees currently enrolled in UnitedHealthcare must select a new medical plan effective January 1, 2027. If you do not select a new plan during Open Enrollment, CalPERS will administratively transfer you and your eligible dependent(s) to another available health plan for 2027.
Even if you do not plan to make changes to your medical, dental, orvision coverage, we strongly encourage all employees to log in to Workday, review their current elections and dependent information, review/update beneficiaries, and confirm that their coverage is accurate.

Vision: Vision coverage will expand to include a second carrier, VSP, in addition to EyeMed. Employees will be able to choose either EyeMed or VSP as their preferred vision provider.
Health Care FSA: You may carry over up to $680 in unused HealthCare FSA funds to the following plan year. The carryover provision does not apply to the Dependent Care FSA.
